Required
76% attendance is required, 95% attendance is expected.

 

To maintain 76% attendance and meet satisfactory progress, the following criteria must be met.

 

Cosmetology students may have no more than (77) seventy-seven hours total absence, Barbering may have no more than (49) fourty-nine hours total absence. Estehetics+ may have no more than (56) fifty-six hours total absences, Manicuring and Instructor students may have no more than (28) twenty-eight hours total absences.

Absences are calculated by hours. Any hours over the contracted completion date will subject to makeup charges. Twenty-one (21) hours will be added to contract completion date, at no charge to student, for teacher in-service days.

 

Maximum Absences Allowed

If total undocumented absences for a Cosmetology student exceeds 140 hours, Barbering student exceeds 119 hours, Estehetics+ student exceeds 119 hours, Manicuring student exceeds 84 hours and Instructor student exceeds 84 hours, THEY WILL BE DROPPED FROM THEIR PROGRAM.

 

Daily Hours of Instruction
Day and evening students will have (7) seven hours of instruction available to them each day plus a one half hour lunch break. Two fifteen minute breaks are included in the seven (7) hours. Additional breaks are optional, however, if a break exceeds ten minutes, the entire length of that break will be deducted from the hours for that day.

 

Part time students will have five (5) hours of instruction available to them each day with one fifteen (15) minute break. However, if a break exceeds ten minutes the entire length of that break will be deducted from the hours for that day.


Full Time, Minimal, & Part Time

An attendance of 140 hours per month is considered full time. 126 hours are the expected minimum allowed. An attendance of 96 hours per month is considered part time. 86 hours are the expected minimum allowed.

 

Part-time students follow the regular school days, Tuesday through Friday, from 8:30 am until a minimum of 24 hours are accumulated for the week. One break is included, no lunch.

 

Evening school days are Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A minimum of 24 hours a week is mandatory.

 

Whether a student registers for full-time or part-time, they must complete their program under the original contract.
