Career Path

There are many career paths associated with the beauty industry. With the proper training and license, you can become a stylist, barber, manicurist, esthetician, instructor, owner or manager of a salon, product and equipment sales representative, product educator, platform artist, member of the state board of licensing, owner of a school, representative for NACCAS, skin care consultant, competitor or judge.

Five programs of study are offered in the field of "Cosmetology Arts and Science" :

 

COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM
Day and Evening Classes
1700 HOURS

Science and Theory • Infection Control • Diseases and Disorders of the scalp, Hair, Nails and Skin • Shampooing • Hair Cutting • Hair and Scalp Analysis • Principals of Hair Design and Styling • Artificial Hair • Cutting and Trimming of Facial Hair • All Chemical Procedures Including Permanent Waving and Coloring • 100 Hours of Manicuring and Pedicuring • 100 Hours of Esthetics • Safety • Sanitation • First Aid • Disinfection • Client Services • Laboratory and Practical Experience


100 hours of this program are for Advanced Training and Electives and 100 hours are used for Orientation, WAC’s and RCW’s, Career Research, Salon Management and breaks.

 

BARBERING PROGRAM
1100 HOURS

Science and Theory • Infection Control • Diseases and Disorders of the scalp, Hair, Nails and Skin • Shampooing • Hair Cutting • Hair and Scalp Analysis • Principals of Hair Design and Styling • Artificial Hair • Cutting and Trimming of Facial Hair • Safety • Sanitation • First Aid • Disinfection • Client Services • Laboratory and Practical Experience


50 hours of this program are used for Advanced Training and Electives and 50 hours are used for Orientation, WAC’s and RCW’s, Career Research, Salon Management and breaks.

 

MANICURING PROGRAM
650 HOURS

Science and Theory • Infection Control • Client Services • Artificial Nail Technology • Nail and Skin Disorders and Diseases • Principals of Manicuring and Pedicuring •Cleaning, Shaping and Polishing of the Nails of the Hands and Feet • Laboratory and Practical Experience • Client Services • Safety • Sanitation • First Aid • Disinfection • Client Services • Laboratory and Practical Experience


50 hours of this program are used for Advanced Training and Electives, Orientation, WAC’s and RCW’s, Career Research, Salon Management and breaks.

 

ESTHETICS+ PROGRAM
1250 HOURS

Skin Science and Theory • Infection Control • Skin Disorders and Diseases • Anatomy and Physiology • Skin Histology • Cosmetic Ingredients • Chemical Compounds • Exfoliation • Extractions • Contraindications • Masks and Packs • Professional Skin Treatments • Cellulite and Body Wrap Treatments • Medical Professional Interaction • Skin Care • Manual and Electrotherapy Facials • Hair Removal • Make-up Application • Client Services • Laboratory and Practical Experience • Salon and Business Management • Safety • Sanitation • Disinfections • First Aid • Practical Experience in all Areas of the Curriculum

Victoria's Academy is internationally certified by NCEA as a training facility. All students graduating from our Esthetics+ program may be NCEA internationally certified.
